Module 3 - Behavior
Goal: Students will recognize and be able to provide brief parental counseling on common behavioral issues in children.
Objectives:
Following the outpatient pediatric rotation, the student will be able to:
- Describe common behavioral problems in different age groups such as:
- Newborn/infants: sleep problems, colic
- toddler: temper tantrums, biting, toilet training, feeding problems
- school age: whining/lying, ADHD
- Describe some management techniques of common behavioral concerns such as discipline, toilet training, and eating issues.
