Application and Interview Process

  • Akron Children’s Hospital accepts only categorical pediatric residents.
  • Applicants must submit their application through the Electronic Residency Application system (ERAS) no later than November 30. Paper applications and letters of recommendation will not be accepted.
  • Virtual interviews will be conducted in November through mid-January.
  • The program will host a “Virtual Second Look Day” on January 20, 2021.  This event will be open to all applicants who are granted and complete an interview with us.  Candidates will have opportunities to “meet” with pediatric specialists/sub-specialists in their area(s) of interest.
  • In keeping with external organizations’ policies, our program will not grant in-person interviews or visits to our hospital in order to prevent disadvantaging any applicant.
  • Our program welcomes applicants from a diverse background!
