Pediatric Residency Application and Interview Process
- Akron Children’s accepts only categorical pediatric residents.
- Pediatric residency applicants must submit their application through the Electronic Residency Application system (ERAS) no later than October 1. Paper applications and letters of recommendation will not be accepted.
- Virtual interviews for our residency program will be conducted from mid-October through mid-December.
- The program will host a “Virtual Second Look Day” on January 22, 2025. This event will be open to all applicants who are granted and complete an interview with us. Pediatric residency candidates will have opportunities to “meet” with pediatric specialists/subspecialists in their area(s) of interest.
- In keeping with external organizations’ policies, our program will not grant in-person interviews or visits to our hospital in order to prevent disadvantaging any applicant.
- Applicants must have successfully passed Step 1 and Step 2 examinations to be placed on our program’s Rank List.
- Our program hosts a mandatory Intern Orientation that begins after June 15 annually. If you match to our program, then please plan to start residency at the beginning of orientation.
- Our program welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds!
