Akron Children’s empowers patients and families with the tools they need to improve their quality of life. Every day, we provide support through health screenings and other preventative care, management of chronic health conditions, personalized care coordination, navigation of frequently daunting health provider and social service networks, guidance as children transition between settings, and connections to community resources.

A strong foundation for lifelong health begins with providing quality health care for children in our communities and safeguarding their well-being. Akron Children’s touches the lives of thousands of families each year with collaboration across our entire health care team, striving to:

Promote well-child preventive care, health screenings and chronic condition management.
Improve access to care, treatments, therapies and equipment.
Ensure patients receive the best care, at the best time, and in the best setting.
Develop and achieve safe hospital discharge plans for each patient.
Connect families to community resources and services.
Support children’s mental health and well-being through holistic care.
Provide follow-up and support when children transition between settings.

Provide more care coordinators and navigators to support patients and families.
Enhance programs for high-risk populations.
Assist School-Based Health programs in more than 200 schools and 43 districts.
Expand pediatric Sports Medicine and training throughout the region.
Bolster research into social drivers of pediatric health and well-being.
