Since our beginnings as a two-room day nursery in 1890, philanthropic support has helped Akron Children’s keep its promise of never turning any child away, regardless of ability to pay.

Each year, more than 100 special events, sponsored by the Akron Children's Foundation and outside groups or individuals, raise more than $1 million for the hospital. Attending or organizing a special event is a great way to support Akron Children's.
