Objectives (Educational Content) :

1. Explain the unique characteristics of Mycoplasma pneumoniae and highlight the seasonal trends and demographic factors influencing infection rates. 2. Analyze and discuss potential reasons for the increase in Mycoplasma pneumoniae infections following the COVID-19 pandemic 3. Identify the difficulties in diagnosing Mycoplasma pneumoniae due to its unique biological characteristics and outline the standard treatment protocols.

Target Audience:

General pediatricians, family physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, social workers, psychologists, and nurses.

Identified Gap:

Despite growing awareness of Mycoplasma pneumoniae, significant gaps remain in understanding its unique characteristics, the factors influencing infection rates, and the challenges in diagnosis and treatment. These gaps are particularly evident in seasonal trends, demographic factors, noticeable increases in infections following the COVID-19 pandemic and increasing resistance to standard treatment protocols.
