The Akron Children’s Hospital Mary Hower Medical Library enhances patient care and supports the education, research and decision-making activities of hospital staff by providing high-quality information services and resources.
Resources and Services
The library’s resources include an extensive collection of pediatric materials in electronic formats, including databases, journals, e-books, and more. We are a member of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, OhioLINK and NEOMED consortium libraries.
Services include:
- Online literature searches: Our librarians will search for articles that meet your search needs. We will e-mail abstracts of the articles we find, and you can request the full text of articles you would like to read.
- Reference services: We will identify and locate books and other resources to meet your needs and answer your questions.
- Orientation and instruction: Reach out to us to request training in the use of library resources.
- Interlibrary Loan and Full-text article retrieval: Email us or use the tools on our pages to make requests.
