Shelly Brown, MAOL, CFRE, is the Chief Development Officer and Executive Director of the Foundation. In this role, she and her team are responsible for all aspects of fundraising for Akron Children’s.

Brown joined the hospital in 2008 as a major gifts officer. She also served as senior director of principal giving. Prior to joining Akron Children’s, Brown held director roles at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and the Greater Cleveland YMCA.

She earned a master’s degree in organizational leadership (MAOL) from Malone University and a bachelor’s degree in management from Ohio University. Brown is also a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE).

Brown lives in Copley with her husband, Russ, and their children, Veronica and Vivian.
