Every year, more than 200 decorated trees, 85,000 strings of lights, and countless other holiday creations are displayed at the John S. Knight Center to benefit Akron Children’s Hospital. Since its beginning in 1982, the Holiday Tree Festival has raised more than $6 million for the hospital's patient care programs, education and research.

Many thanks to the donors and decorators for the 2019 Holiday Tree Festival!

Thanks to the dedication of the hundreds of volunteers who made it possible and the overwhelming support of the community, the 2018 Holiday Tree Festival raised $312,000 to support patient care programs at Akron Children’s Hospital!

We hope you’ll join us for the 39th annual Holiday Tree Festival at the John S. Knight Center Nov. 21 - 29. If you’re interested in decorating and donating a tree, wreath or holiday gift for the event, contracts will be available here starting August 1.

Holiday Tree Festival Contract Guidelines

  • All contracts to enter a tree, wreath or holiday gift into the Holiday Tree Festival will be posted August 1 and remain open through September 25 or until the limit of entries is reached, whichever comes first.
  • It’s never too early to start planning! Now is a great time to start thinking of your entry’s title and decorative theme, you’ll need that information to fill out your contract.
  • All items staged on or near your tree will be delivered to or picked up by the new lucky owner.
  • To ensure safe delivery to their new home, trees cannot exceed 7 feet tall, including the topper.

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Volunteers greet the public, help sell holiday items and raffle tickets, and assist kids with writing letters to Santa or creating get well cards for the patients at Akron Children’s.
