Objectives (Educational Content) :
1. Examine the state of healthcare delivery for youth with neurodevelopmental disabilities (NDDs). 2. Describe the SAFE initiative and key domains that healthcare settings must consider to improve care access and outcomes for youth with NDDs and their families. 3. Identify opportunities and priorities for medical education, clinical dissemination, advocacy, and research to support the healthcare of youth with NDDs.
Target Audience:
General pediatricians, family physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, social workers, psychologists, and nurses.
Identified Gap:
There is a large population of children with neurodevelopmental disabilities, who frequently report challenges accessing medical care. Disparities in access to safe and accessible health care begin in childhood. There is a need for training of care providers to know the best way to care for patients with neurodevelopmental disorders. We want to provide sage an accessible pediatric care for this vulnerable population.
