Objectives (Educational Content) :
1. Differentiate ADHD from other conditions that might present in a similar way and apply practical case-based earning to integrate diagnostic reasoning and treatment planning in real-world clinical scenarios.
2. Develop effective, guideline-based treatment plans for behavioral health disorders, including pharmacologic and non pharmacologic interventions appropriate for the primary care setting.
3. Recognize evolving trends in youth marijuana and THC abuse and understand why adolescents are developmentally vulnerable to THC use and its effects.
Target Audience:
General pediatricians, family physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, social workers, psychologists, and nurses.
Identified Gap:
Pediatric providers need enhanced skills to accurately differentiate ADHD from other conditions, apply case-based diagnostic reasoning, and develop guideline-based treatment plans for behavioral health disorders. Education is also needed to increase awareness of evolving trends in adolescent marijuana and THC use, including understanding developmental vulnerabilities and associated risks, to inform prevention and counseling strategies.
