Pediatric Plastic Surgery Elective

We offer a 4-week pediatric subspecialty elective in plastic surgery to 4th year medical students.

Objectives

  • Learn the scope of pediatric plastic surgery
  • Learn the scope of maxillofacial and craniofacial surgery

Description

  • Have patient contact in the office
  • Work up surgery patients in the hospital
  • Assist in the operating room
  • Practice suturing

Typical daily schedule

  • Monday – office, all day
  • Tuesday – surgery
  • Wednesday – surgery
  • Thursday – office, morning
  • Friday – clinic in morning; surgery in afternoon

Night call/special requirements: None
