Internet Privacy Policy

Akron Children’s, in accordance with the Ohio State Medical Association’s (OSMA) Guidelines for CME on the Internet (02-10-B), maintains the following privacy policy for Internet-viewed CME activities.

The Medical Education department at Akron Children’s values your privacy and is committed to protecting any information you provide as part of a CME activity.

Post-activity podcasts of many CME activities are available without identifying yourself. However, as the program does not provide enduring material CME, these activities when viewed following the completion of the event cannot be granted Category I Credit.

What we do collect

We ask all visitors viewing the activity for CME credit:

  • To provide information about their identity in order to maintain a record of participation
  • To affirm they have reviewed all disclosures associated with the CME activity
  • To affirm they have reviewed this privacy policy
  • To provide information related to pre/post testing that may be incorporated into the activity
  • To provide evaluation and feedback data relating to the quality of the CME activity

Other uses of information provided

  • To check on potential verification problems (i.e. duplicate registration for a single activity)
  • To ask for more details about information provided (i.e. suggestions to improve our CME program)
  • We may contact you with post-activity surveys related to activities you have viewed to assess for learner change
  • We may contact you via mail and/or email to make you aware of future CME offerings

Sharing of information

The CME program at Akron Children’s will not sell, rent or lease any personally identifiable information to others

Change in policy

If our privacy policy changes, we will modify this statement and apply its use going forward to any data collected

Security

We have appropriate security measures in place in our physical facilities to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of collected information
