Objectives
- Provide additional training in clinical inpatient pediatric care with emphasis on the diagnosis, management and care of infants and children with acute chronic diseases
- Develop skills in organizing and supervising comprehensive inpatient care
Description
- Assume the responsibility of a Junior Pediatric House Officer in one of our pediatric inpatient services, with assistance from the Senior Pediatric House Officer and attending physician
- Admit patients in rotation with other Junior Pediatric House Officers, managing day-to-day care, presenting these patients at daily rounds and periodic conferences, and communicating daily with the family
- Typical day schedule: 6 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Night call/special requirements: Night shift coverage (5 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.) will offset day shift at times. This will be under the supervision of a Senior Pediatric House Officer.
