Pediatric ENT Elective

We offer a 4-week pediatric surgical subspecialty elective in otolaryngology to 4th year medical students.

Objective

  • Introduce and explain various aspects of pediatric otolaryngology including congenital anomalies, hearing loss, cochlear implants, head and neck masses, sleep apnea, congenital and acquired airway disorders/lesions, voice disorders through observations in the operating room, outpatient clinics and inpatient consultations/clinical rounds

Description

  • Observe and assist with pediatric ENT patients in the OR
  • Assist and participate in chronic airway clinic, craniofacial clinic and voice clinic
  • Participate in daily rounds, conferences and peer review/quality initiative conference
  • Typical daily schedule: 8 a.m.– 5 p.m., Monday–Friday
  • Night call/special requirements: None
