Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics Elective

We offer a 4-week pediatric subspecialty elective in developmental-behavioral pediatrics to 4th year medical students.

Objectives

  • Gain exposure to different types of developmental-behavioral pediatric problems
  • Promote skills in the important details of history taking
  • Recognize the developmental milestones for typically and non-typically developing children

Description

  • Assess outpatients, new and returning, with attending and/or developmental-behavioral pediatric fellow
  • Research and obtain articles on certain interesting patient cases you may see during your rotation
  • Attendance to the following: 
    • Developmental-Behavioral Case Conference at 4 p.m., once per month
    • Developmental-Behavioral Journal Club at 2 p.m., once per month
    • Didactic sessions in a variety of topics relevant to developmental-behavioral pediatrics, times vary per month
    • Resident NeuroDevelopmental Conference, Thursday at 12:30 p.m., once per month
  • Night call/special requirements:  None
