Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics Elective
We offer a 4-week pediatric subspecialty elective in developmental-behavioral pediatrics to 4th year medical students.
Objectives
- Gain exposure to different types of developmental-behavioral pediatric problems
- Promote skills in the important details of history taking
- Recognize the developmental milestones for typically and non-typically developing children
Description
- Assess outpatients, new and returning, with attending and/or developmental-behavioral pediatric fellow
- Research and obtain articles on certain interesting patient cases you may see during your rotation
- Attendance to the following:
- Developmental-Behavioral Case Conference at 4 p.m., once per month
- Developmental-Behavioral Journal Club at 2 p.m., once per month
- Didactic sessions in a variety of topics relevant to developmental-behavioral pediatrics, times vary per month
- Resident NeuroDevelopmental Conference, Thursday at 12:30 p.m., once per month
