Continuing Medical Education for EMS Providers
Akron Children's EMS Program
Improving pediatric outcomes in partnership with local EMS agencies
The Akron Children's EMS Program serves as a bridge between area emergency medical service agencies and pediatric healthcare. We are an approved Ohio EMS Continuing Education site and provide education, outreach, and collaborative support to EMS agencies throughout our region. We are committed to helping EMS clinicians deliver confident, evidence-based care to children through accessible education, hands-on training, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing partnership with the pediatric experts at Akron Children's.
Skills labs
Hands-on training opportunities focused on pediatric assessment, airway management, vascular access, trauma care, resuscitation skills, medication administration, and equipment familiarization.
Didactic education
Evidence-based lectures that are engaging. We will work with your Training Coordinator or Medical director to provide education targeted to the topics you need most.
EMS power hour
High-yield multi-topic education that works great for conference or symposium presentation.
Simulation Center opportunities
We have hands on pediatric simulation opportunities in partnership with our simulation center. These will be shared with local Medical Directors/EMS coordinators and also posted in the Akron Children’s Hospital EMS rooms for sign up.
We support agencies through pediatric readiness assistance, quality improvement collaboration, clinical feedback opportunities, and EMS recognition.
Contact the Akron Children's EMS Program to discuss training opportunities or request more information.
