500mg (marble sized amount) of soft stool or 1 mL liquid stool in sterile container.
Minimum Volume:
Formed stool minimum volume is 250mg (pea sized amount). Liquid stool minimum volume is 0.5 mL.
Cause for Rejection:
Stool specimen sent on swab, diaper, or dried applicator stick, stool sent in viral transport media, stool in CaryBlair.
Storage:
Transport refrigerated required from off campus location. Upon arrival in laboratory, store refrigerated.
