Special Instructions:
Test useful for: Diagnosis of HIV1 infection in individuals with acute or early HIV1 infection. Diagnosis of HIV1 infection in infants under 18 months of age to mothers living with HIV1 infection. Quantifying plasma HIV1 RNA levels (viral load) in individuals living with HIV1 infection. Monitoring HIV1 disease progression before or during antiretroviral drug therapy. Lab centrifuge blood and pour off plasma aliquot within 2 hours. Freeze aliquoted plasma immediately.
