Special Instructions:
For Outpatients, test should only be drawn in outpatient locations within a Hospital (Akron or Beeghly)
First morning sputum samples of 3.0-5.0 mL are optimal for possible recovery of mycobacterial organisms.
Acid fast stain performed on all specimens.
