Objectives (Educational Content) :

1. Define Human Trafficking (HT) and present data on prevalence of Human Trafficking.

2. Describe high-risk red flags for Human Trafficking and validated, evidence-based screening questionnaire for HT.

3. Describe a variety of clinical presentations of adolescents experiencing Human Trafficking across clinical settings.

Target Audience:

General pediatricians, family physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, social workers, psychologists, and nurses.

Identified Gap:

Healthcare providers may lack sufficient training in recognizing and responding to pediatric human trafficking within clinical settings. Gaps in knowledge of prevalence data, validated screening tools, and the diverse clinical presentations of trafficked adolescents can result in missed opportunities for intervention.
