Dr. Parry is a pediatric surgeon, as well as the director of pediatric surgery and director of trauma services at Akron Children’s Hosptial. He’s been practicing since 1994 and with Akron Children’s since 2011. A graduate of Cornell University, he completed a surgery residency at National Naval Medical Center in Maryland. He went on to complete a pediatric surgical research fellowship at Massachusetts General Hosptial and a pediatric surgery fellowship at Children’s Hosptial Los Angeles. Dr. Parry has a special interest in general pediatric surgery for babies, infants and adolescents, including inguinal hernias, umbilical hernias and trauma. He’s certified by the American Board of Surgery in general surgery and pediatric surgery. He’s also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of numerous professional organizations and committees. Dr. Parry served in the United State Navy as a commander in the Medical Corps and received a Navy Commendation Medal along with several other awards for his service. He’s an associate professor of surgery at Northeast Ohio Medical University and an instructor in advanced trauma life support for the American College of Surgeons.
