Katrina Hermetet, PhD, NCSP

Dr. Hermetet is the Director of the Division of Neurobehavioral Health and pediatric psychologist at Akron Children’s, where she’s been practicing since 2015. She earned her doctorate degree from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa. and completed her residency in clinical psychology from Rutgers University Behavioral Healthcare/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, N.J. She went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric psychology at Akron Children’s. Dr. Hermetet has a special interest in tic disorders and Tourette Syndrome (TS), special education, school psychology, school reentry, adolescent development and LGBTQIA+ service provision. She is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist and a member of the American Psychological Association, National Association of School Psychologists and the Tourette Association. She has contributed to numerous professional articles, presentations and research, as well as established the Akron Children’s Tic and Tourette Services and its “T.I.C. Night Out,” the largest annual community social gathering of children and families with tic disorders and TS in the Midwest. Dr. Hermetet is also a clinical assistant professor of pediatrics at Northeast Ohio Medical University and an adjunct professor at Lehigh University.
