Ibrahim Farid, MD

Dr. Farid is director of the Pain Center at Akron Children’s Hospital. He’s been practicing as pediatric cardiac anesthesiologist at the hospital since 2003. He earned his medical degree from Ain Shams University Faculty of Medicine in Cairo, Egypt. He went on to complete a residency in anesthesiology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio and a pediatric anesthesiology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and at Akron Children’s. Dr. Farid has a special interest in pediatric anesthesia, sedation, pain management (acute and chronic) and cardiac anesthesia. He is board-certified in anesthesiology, pediatric anesthesiology, pain medicine and perioperative transesophageal echocardiography (PTE). He’s also a Fellow of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and a professor of surgery at Northeast Ohio Medical University.
