Rebecca D. Considine Research Institute Education Programs

As a major teaching institution affiliated with Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), Akron Children’s recognizes that developing tomorrow’s pediatric medicine professionals requires opportunities for scientific inquiry in an intellectual environment conducive to scholarly pursuits.

To instill an awareness and appreciation of pediatric research, the Rebecca D. Considine Research Institute offers educational opportunities for students, physicians and nurses at all stages of career development.

Research Student Practicum Experience

This experience is for all levels of student curriculum requirements. An affiliation agreement with the educational institution is required prior to the onboarding and orientation of the student.

Summer Pediatric Research Scholars (SPRS)

Akron Children’s provides opportunities for college students of all majors to gain clinical research experience through the SPRS program.
