Akron Children's Hospital’s Professional Advancement Model (PAM) was developed by the Professional Development committee of the Advanced Practice Provider Council. We published a template and rationale for a professional advancement model early in 2015 in the journal, “Advance for NPs & PAs” (Stratton A, Breedlove K, Kulasa-Luke D, Tsirambidis J, Brandon G).
This model is available to all advanced practice providers (PAs, NPs, CNSs, and CRNAs), and has been designed to incorporate all aspects of your work – clinical, education, research, leadership and years of experience. It contains three different levels (I, II and III). When a level is achieved, there is a bonus awarded for initial achievement and then a yearly maintenance bonus. You will also have an allowance each year for professional benefit. This will be paid for specific purposes only, (i.e. professional membership). (See Table 1.)
You can apply to the level that best fits your accomplishments /experience. You must stay at that level for 2 years before advancing to the next level.
Application details are sent out electronically.
