Physiatrist joins Akron Children’s Hospital

Melanie Rak, M.D., has joined Akron Children’s Hospital as a pediatric physiatrist in the department of Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, where she is treating patients with cerebral palsy, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, stroke and skeletal dysplasias.

Dr. Rak is a graduate of Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago. She completed her residency in pediatrics at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and was a resident in physical medicine and rehabilitation at The University of Cincinnati. Most recently she was an assistant professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine and an attending physician in the pediatric and adolescent program at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago/Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.

Dr. Rak resides in Kent.
