New pediatric surgeon joins Akron Children’s Hospital

Pediatric surgeon Nathan Heinzerling, M.D., has joined Akron Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Heinzerling was most recently a fellow in pediatric surgery at Northwell Health Cohen Children’s Medical Center in New Hyde Park, New York. He completed his general surgery residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals and completed a research fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. He received his doctor of medicine degree from Rush University in Chicago. Dr. Heinzerling also has a bachelor’s degree in molecular and cellular biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Dr. Heinzerling resides in Peninsula with his wife, Bethany.
