Kidney specialists join Akron Children's Hospital

Pediatric nephrologists Kirsten Kusumi, MD, and Deepti Narla, MD, have joined Akron Children’s Hospital, where they will provide care to children and teens with diseases affecting the kidneys.

 

After graduating from Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University in Dayton, Dr. Kusumi completed a pediatric residency and a fellowship in pediatric nephrology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus. She is board certified in pediatrics.

 

Dr. Narla received her medical degree from the University of Illinois-Urbana in Champaign, Ill. She completed a pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and a fellowship in pediatric nephrology at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. She is board certified in pediatrics.

 

The team in Akron Children’s nephrology department diagnoses and treats kidney and kidney-related diseases in children and teens, including high blood pressure, urinary tract infection, nephrotic syndrome, glomerulonephritis, kidney stone formation and kidney failure. They also have a kidney dialysis and renal care center for children and teens whose kidneys have failed.

 

Dr. Kusumi resides in Akron. Dr. Narla resides in Medina.
