Dutton named chair of Akron Children's Foundation Board

Paul Dutton, a partner with the Youngstown-based law firm Harrington, Hoppe & Mitchell, Ltd., has been named chairman of the Akron Children’s Hospital Foundation Board of Directors.

Dutton has served on the foundation board since 2011 and on the Akron Children’s Hospital Board of Directors since 2017.

In addition to his role on the foundation board, Dutton serves as solicitor to the Village of Lordstown and as general counsel to the Mahoning Valley Economic Development Corporation. He also serves as an adjunct instructor at Youngstown State University. 

Dutton is a graduate of Youngstown State University and Case Western Reserve University School of Law. His areas of practice include business law, real estate development, estate/succession planning and public sector law. 

“We are pleased to welcome Mr. Dutton as the chair of the Akron Children’s Hospital Foundation Board,” said John LaGuardia, vice president of Development. “He brings an understanding of the financial needs of the hospital as well as a history with the Mahoning Valley that will be invaluable as the hospital continues to grow to meet the needs of the children and families we serve.”

Dutton was born in Youngstown, and now resides in Liberty Township, with his wife, Sallie. They have six children and nine grandchildren.

In addition to Dutton’s appointment, the following members were also elected to the Foundation Board of Directors:

Bruce Cohen, MD, FAAN – Director, Akron Children’s NeuroDevelopmental Science Center. Cohen is a pediatric neurologist and internationally known as a leader in research into mitochondrial diseases.

Timothy B. Clepper – President of Kaulig Capital, LLC. Clepper has been involved with Santa PICsU at Akron Children’s Hospital, which delivers Christmas gifts to hospital’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. He is also a planned giving advisor ambassador for Akron Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Carina Diamond – Managing director, SS&G Wealth and Springside Partners LLC. Diamond is also a member of the Akron Children’s Hospital Foundation Planned Giving Advisor Roundtable Committee.

Gary Didado – President of J.W. Didado Electric. He is also a member of Akron Children’s Leadership Giving Committee.

Philip C. Lopez – Financial planner with Capital Partners. Lopez is a trustee of the LOPen Charity Golf, which supports Akron Children’s Showers Family Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders. He is also a planned giving advisor ambassador and member of the Showers Center’s Leadership Council.
