Todd Ritzman, M.D., has been appointed chair of the department of Orthopedic Surgery at Akron Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Ritzman has been a pediatric orthopedic surgeon at Akron Children’s since 2007. He earned his medical degree at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. His residency in orthopedic surgery was at the Cleveland Clinic and he also completed a fellowship in pediatric orthopedics and scoliosis at San Diego Children’s Hospital. Dr. Ritzman is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery and the American Orthopedic Association.
Dr. Ritzman is also Director of the Spine Program at Akron Children's Hospital and has an interest in spinal deformity research, education and innovation. Additionally, he has a strong interest in orthopedic education as evidenced by his roles as co-director of the pediatric orthopedic and scoliosis fellowship, course director of the annual pediatric orthopedic resident review course, and involvement in a national pediatric orthopedic educational board.
Dr. Ritzman, an Akron native, resides in Bath with his wife, Dr. Stacy Ritzman, and four children.
Akron Children’s department of Orthopedic Surgery specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of all types of bone, joint, muscle and spine disorders and injuries in children, teens and young adults.
