Considine to sign books at Barnes & Noble Feb. 10

01-29-2018 (Akron, Ohio )

William Considine, chief executive officer of Akron Children’s Hospital, will sign copies of his book, “Leadership,” at the Montrose Barnes & Noble, 4015 Medina Rd., on Feb. 10 from 1 to 3 p.m.

The book, published in December, draws on Considine’s experiences over the past 38 years at the helm of Akron Children’s, while offering insights on how to become a trusted and inspiring leader.

The book uses the letters in the word “Leadership” to illustrate the key attributes Considine feels are necessary to effectively motivate others and earn the mantle of leadership. He relates stories from his life and the lasting impact mentors, friends, family, coworkers, community leaders and patients have made on his leadership style.

As one of the longest-serving hospital CEOs in the United States, Considine has overseen Akron Children’s exponential growth as it has become the largest pediatric healthcare provider in northern Ohio. He is actively involved in numerous healthcare, educational, and cultural organizations at local, state and national levels. He is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and past board chairman of the Children’s Hospital Association, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, and the Child Health Corporation of America.

Proceeds from the $15 book will benefit the Rebecca D. Considine Research Institute at Akron Children's Hospital.
