09-26-2016 (Mahoning Valley, Ohio )

National comedy troupe The Capitol Steps will bring its political satire to Youngstown on Oct. 5 to perform a show at Stambaugh Auditorium to benefit Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley.

An Evening with The Capitol Steps performance begins at 7:30 p.m., and a VIP cocktail reception for $75 patron-level sponsors and above starts at 5:30 p.m. The reception will feature convention-style fun, including photos with life-sized figures of the candidates, an appearance by Uncle Sam, and an Americana themed buffet by Inspired Catering by Kravitz.

Show tickets are available for $40 and $25 apiece through the Stambaugh Auditorium box office at 330-259-0555 or www.stambaughauditorium.com. Sponsorship packages are available by contacting JoAnn Stock at jstock@akronchildrens.org or 330-746-9122. All proceeds go to Akron Children’s.

“This is the nation’s leading political satire troupe that sells out performances all over the country, and we’re fortunate to have them in Youngstown in October when the general election is in full swing,” said JoAnn Stock, senior director of development, Akron Children’s. “Republican or Democrat, these comedians redefine ‘political party’ in their skits, song parodies and hilarious impressions of prominent political figures; all timely to the headlines of the day.”
