Area retailers running April promotions for Akron Children's

Area locations of national retailers kicked off Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals promotions this month, each raising funds for Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley.

Participating retailers include:

Ace Hardware – Locations in Mahoning, Columbiana, Trumbull and Mercer counties will ask customers to round-up their change to the nearest dollar throughout the month of April. Since 2009, Ace Hardware has raised more than $4,000 through this campaign.

Chico’s and White House Black Market – Locations at 833 Boardman-Poland Rd. in Boardman and the Grove City Outlets, respectively, will sell “Miracle Balloons” in store for $1 each through May 31.

Circle K – Twenty area locations will sell “Miracle Balloons” and ask customers to round-up their change from April 7-30, with all donations going to Akron Children’s. Over the past nine years, local Circle K stores have raised more than $121,000 for the hospital.

Ollie’s Bargain Outlet – Locations at 385 Boardman-Canfield Rd. in Boardman and 5555 Youngstown-Warren Rd. in Niles will sell “Miracle Balloons” and collect change to raise money for Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley April 16-29. Local Ollie’s locations have raised more than $10,000 through this campaign over the past nine years.

Rite Aid – Locations in Mahoning, Columbiana, Trumbull and Mercer counties will sell “Miracle Balloons” in-store through May 6, with all sales going to the local hospital. Since 2008, local Rite Aid stores have raised more than $120,000 for Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley.

Akron Children's is a founding member of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving and improving lives of children by raising funds for hospitals across the country.
