Akron Children's applies for Magnet re-designation

Developed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the Magnet Recognition Program distinguishes hospitals with a commitment to nursing excellence and outstanding performance by the entire organization. Akron Children’s Hospital was designated as a Magnet organization in 2007 and 2012, and is currently applying for Magnet re-designation.


"There is much to celebrate at Akron Children’s especially related to outstanding, high-quality, evidence based clinical care that is provided by our clinical team each day,” said Lisa Aurilio, MSN, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, vice president for patient services and chief nursing officer at Akron Children's. “I am excited that our organization and nursing team will have the opportunity to share our excellence with the ANCC Magnet appraiser review team in the coming months.”


Patients, family members, staff and interested parties who would like to provide comments are encouraged to do so. Anyone may send comments via e-mail and direct mail. Comments may be anonymous, but they must be sent in writing to the Magnet Program Office by Aug. 19.
