Akron Children's welcomes pediatric GI specialist

Madhura Phadke, MD, has joined Akron Children’s Hospital as a pediatric gastroenterologist.

Dr. Phadke recently completed her fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition at the Yale University School of Medicine.

After graduating from medical school at the St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada West Indies, Dr. Phadke completed her residency in pediatrics at Maimonides Medical Center/Children’s Hospital of Brooklyn.

Dr. Phadke has a special clinical interest in pediatric pancreatic diseases, as well as general pediatric gastroenterology.

Akron Children’s Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology provides diagnosis and treatment of infants, children and teens with gastrointestinal diseases, such as Crohn’s disease, celiac disease, gastroesophageal reflux, diverticulitis, inflammatory bowel disease, pyloric stenosis, Hirschsprung’s disease and irritable bowel syndrome.

The Division’s five pediatric gastroenterologists and two nurse practitioners are joined by a multidisciplinary team – social worker, dietitian, psychologist, surgeons and others – to offer comprehensive care for patients and their families.

Dr. Phadke resides in Hudson with her family.
