Akron Children’s expands cardiac care to Marietta

Akron Children’s is set to begin offering cardiac care to patients in Marietta this month.

J.R. Bockoven, M.D., from the Northeast Ohio-based children’s hospital will see patients at 401 Matthew St., Suite 100, which is inside the Strecker Cancer Center on the Marietta Memorial Hospital campus. The clinic will be open on the first and third Monday of each month starting on Feb. 18.

Dr. Bockoven, a pediatric cardiologist, is Akron Children’s associate clinical director and director of outreach education for cardiology.

Akron Children’s is providing pediatric specialty care for employees on the Memorial Health System health plan. The hospital offers pediatric and adult congenital cardiology services at 15 clinics throughout Ohio. Specialized care for infants, children, teens and adults with congenital heart defects, pediatric-acquired heart disease and arrhythmias is available.
