Akron Children’s again tapped for ERC NorthCoast 99 Best Workplace recognition

09-14-2020 (Akron, Ohio )

Akron Children’s Hospital was once again honored by ERC as one of Northeast Ohio’s best places to work. This is the 14th time Akron Children’s has earned a NorthCoast 99 award.

“We are honored and humbled to again receive NorthCoast 99 recognition, particularly because this award is based on employee feedback,” said Rhonda Larimore, chief human resources officer at Akron Children’s. “Our employees have always viewed their work as more than a job. For more than 130 years, they have dedicated themselves to the promises our hospital was founded on: Treat every child as we would our own; Treat others as they would like to be treated; and Turn no child away for any reason.”

Larimore added, “During this unique and challenging time, our leadership team especially wants to thank our employees for the dedication, flexibility and resiliency they have shown in caring for children and families. We are committed to building an inclusive, diverse workforce – one that strengthens our employees’ innovation, performance and engagement, and offers a better experience and outcome for patients and staff alike.”

Presented by ERC and now in its 22nd year, NorthCoast 99 recognizes 99 great workplaces in the region for their efforts to attract, develop, retain and motivate their top performers. NorthCoast 99 winners participated in a rigorous application process focusing on how their organization addresses top-performer attraction, development, and retention in these areas: organizational strategy, policies and benefits; talent attraction, acquisition and onboarding; employee well-being; employee engagement and talent development; total rewards; and diversity and inclusion.
