Akron Children’s Hospital welcomes pediatric pulmonologist Dr. Michael Pena

Pediatric pulmonologist Michael Pena, M.D., has joined Akron Children’s Hospital in the Robert T. Stone, M.D., Respiratory Center.

Dr. Pena earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Prior to joining Akron Children’s, he completed his fellowship in pediatric pulmonary medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine’s Riley Hospital for Children. From 2015 to 2017, he was a neonatology hospitalist at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, where he also completed his pediatric residency.

Dr. Pena resides in Hudson with his wife, Dr. Ashleigh Galizio, a pediatrician at Akron Children’s Hospital Pediatrics in Twinsburg.
