Akron Children’s Health Center, Mansfield will be the site of a car booster seat and hygiene kit giveaway on Oct. 3 from 10 a.m. to noon.
A limited number of booster seats will be available. Parents are eligible for a seat if their child is at least 4 years old and weighs 40 pounds or more. Booster seats must be requested in advance by calling 330-543-4778.
Children should be seated in a car booster seat until they are tall enough for a seat belt to fit properly. That’s usually not until they reach 4 feet, 9 inches tall and are between 8 and 12 years old.
All who attend the event will also receive free hygiene kits suitable for children through age 18. Kits include shampoo, soap and hand sanitizer, toothbrush and toothpaste, and a forehead thermometer. Also included is a refillable water bottle and a bandana with instructions on making a face covering.
The Health Center is located at 1029 S. Trimble Road. To ensure everyone’s safety, the giveaway will be a drive-up event. Attendees are asked to wear a mask or face covering before they open the window to accept their items.
