12-10-2020 (Akron, Ohio )

Dietitian Lindsay Bailey

Akron Children’s is now providing nutritional counseling for young athletes through its Sports Medicine department.

Dietitian Lindsay Bailey is providing the service to help children and teens address how they can improve their performance through better nutrition. She can help athletes with sports performance nutrition, nutritional deficiencies (iron, vitamin D), fueling strategies, hydration strategies, meeting calorie and protein needs, supplements and pre/post snacks for activity. She typically meets with a patient for a 30- to 60-minute initial consult and is also available for follow up support if needed.

Bailey, who has been a pediatric clinical dietitian with Akron Children’s since 2014, has a master of science degree in nutrition and bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics, both from Kent State University. She also works with patients with eating disorders.

Patients interested in meeting with Bailey should have a referral from their primary care physician.

Appointments take place in Akron Children’s Adolescent Medicine department, located in the Considine Professional Building, 215 W. Bowery St. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 330-543-3979.
