Shelly Brown, CFRE, has been named Akron Children’s Hospital’s vice president of Development. In her new position, Brown and her team are responsible for all aspects of fundraising for Akron Children’s Hospital. She replaces John LaGuardia, who retired from this role earlier this year. In 2018, the foundation raised a record-breaking $34.7 million.
Brown joined the hospital in 2008 as a major gifts officer and was most recently serving as senior director of principal giving. Prior to joining Akron Children’s, Brown held director roles at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and the Greater Cleveland YMCA. She received her bachelor’s degree from Ohio University.
She lives in Copley with her husband, Russ, and their children, Veronica and Vivian.
