Akron Children’s Hospital Pediatrics, Liberty to relocate and expand services

01-13-2021 (Mahoning Valley, Ohio)

The Liberty office of Akron Children’s Pediatrics is moving from its current location at 4308 Belmont Ave. to 3530 Belmont Ave., Suite 8, in Youngstown. The new office opens Tuesday, Jan. 19.

With the move, the number of primary care exam rooms is increasing from six to nine. The facility also includes a dedicated room for behavioral health services that will be available starting in February.

“Our larger office will help us expand access to pediatric primary care for patients in Youngstown, Liberty Township and surrounding areas,” said Ben Teske, director of operations for Akron Children’s Pediatrics. “The addition of behavioral health services will help us meet the growing needs of mental health care in our community.”

Providers in the Liberty office are Dr. Gilda Isabel Mateo and nurse practitioners Dayne Adkins and Nancy Keslar.

Akron Children’s Pediatrics provides a range of care for babies, kids and teens that includes:

  • Treatment for illness and injury.
  • Annual well-child visits.
  • Chronic disease management.
  • Immunizations.
  • Sports, school and camp physicals.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Akron Children’s Pediatrics has expanded telehealth/video services. Telehealth visits are available for routine medical care, excluding wellness exams and appointments that require immunizations. Expectant parents who are choosing a provider for their baby – or parents who want to change their child’s primary care provider – can request a free telehealth visit to interview a provider.

Akron Children’s Pediatrics, Liberty is currently accepting new patients. Most insurance plans, including Medicaid, are accepted. Learn more about Akron Children’s Pediatrics at akronchildrens.org/pediatrics. For appointments, call toll free 1-833-543-2778.
