Special Instructions:
Separate serum from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. Centrifuge, standard aliquot tube and refrigerate ASAP. Specimens containing particulate matter are unacceptable. This assay should not be used for blood donor screening, associated re-entry protocols or for screening Human Cell, Tissues and Cellular and Tissue-Based Products (HCT/P). For Outpatients, test should only be drawn in outpatient locations within a Hospital (Akron or Beeghly).

  • Screening and initial diagnosis of HTLVI/II infection. If repeatedly reactive, confirmation by Western Blot will be performed at an additional cost.
