With the new Akron Children’s Mother and Baby App, you’ll have all the tools you’ll need to keep you and your baby healthy.
“We designed the app to benefit women at various stages in their journey – from pre-conception through parenthood,” said Roderick Ingram Sr., Akron Children’s vice president of marketing and communications. “From birth to age 18, there are 6,574 days. We want to help parents make the most of their kids’ childhood.”
App features to help you before and during pregnancy
If you’re considering pregnancy, the app features a variety of resources to help you prepare your body for a healthy pregnancy. The app makes finding a pediatric primary care provider nearby, and scheduling an in-person appointment, easy for you. Or you can simply schedule a virtual appointment with them. There’s also a list of birthing hospitals that collaborate with Akron Children’s to provide comprehensive, coordinated care close to where you live.
In addition to tips for a healthy pregnancy, the find-a-provider tool and our list of affiliated birthing hospitals, the app offers a weekly pregnancy calendar to help you track every stage of pregnancy. And if you have a high-risk pregnancy or need to see a specialist, look no further than the app. It connects you with the highest level of resources available.

The app features a symptom checker to help you decide whether at-home remedies will suffice or if you should seek medical help. The symptom checker even recommends what type of care to seek, from a call to the pediatrician’s office to urgent or emergency care.

The Akron Children’s Mother and Baby app also includes links to MyChart, appointment scheduling and a location finder. The app is free and available for both Apple and Android devices.
