Barbara Allen began her career at Akron Children’s 21 years ago, cleaning toys. After COVID halted the toy cleaning program, Barb transitioned to housekeeping. She’s been an important member of the Environmental Services support staff here at Akron Children’s. “I’ve known Barb a long time,” said Crystal Cline, administrative secretary for Environmental Services. “She’s great! We hate to see her go.”
While Barb’s excited to begin a new chapter, she will miss her friends and co-workers here at the hospital. “I loved working here. I’m going to miss everybody,” Barb said. “The memories are here, but it’s time to leave the nest.”
“I’d like to thank Crystal and Margie [Ramos, assistant director, Environmental Services and Linen] and everybody here at work who has taught me to be myself,” she shared.
Barb’s last day at Children’s is Fri., Jan. 10.
