On May 1, 2020, final regulations for the 21st Century CURES Act were signed into law allowing patients to begin to get increased on-demand access to information within their medical records.
The purpose of the CURES Act is to improve transparency and access to information patients need to make informed health-care decisions.
At Akron Children’s, we believe patient families are an integral part of the care team. The CURES Act is another way to help us ensure you and your health-care team are on the same page to deliver the best care possible to your child.
So beginning Nov. 2 at Akron Children’s, you can expect some clinical notes from your child’s providers to be released to MyChart. In addition, lab and radiology test results and pathology reports will be released to MyChart with less delay.
To learn more about what this means for you, read the CURES Act FAQs, or call 330-543-4400 or email mycharthelp@akronchildrens.org.
