Every year we go shopping for 2 special presents. One is the same every year. The other we walk around the store until we find the perfect one. Yes, I cried.
These are not for a child we know or a child that has asked for them specifically. These are going to be given to Akron Children’s Hospital at the annual Christmas memorial in memory of Bozena. The Fisher Price puppy is the same as the one given to Bozena while she was in the hospital, and she loved it. Hers is in her memorial cabinet.

Bozena and her family loved the puppy they received while in the hospital. She was nearly 3 months old when she passed away from congenital heart defects.
The other is a present that is for a child around the age she would be that we think she would’ve loved. This year the other is a Baby Alive with beautiful brown eyes (do you see those eyelashes?) and hair, just like our baby girl.

Bozena’s memory lives on with her family’s thoughtful gifts to the hospital each Christmas since her passing.
This is a very hard time for us. We wish Bozena was here with us. Please say a prayer for our family and all others who have lost a loved one and will be spending the holidays without them. #ihatechd #foreverinourhearts

For the fifth year, the Foley family — Thomas, Anthony, Vincent, Alysa Frcka, Tina and Thomas — attended the Akron Children’s Hospital Remembrance Service in early December with 2 gifts in memory of Bozena Abbygail.
Editor’s note: Bozena was one of 165 children remembered at our 2019 Remembrance Service with about 500 family members and friends attending to pay tribute. Bereavement Coordinator Nancy Carst said when parents bring their gifts to the event they are invited to take them to the front stage and a bereaved parent volunteer receives their gift “in memory of their child” and they ask their child’s name so they can personally thank them for their thoughtfulness.
Their gifts filled the stage and packed 4 cars/minivans to deliver them to the hospital. “We know that your generosity will assist many children this holiday season,” Nancy said.
