Akron Children’s newest pediatric allergist/immunologist Dr. Leilanie Perez poses with her husband and 3-year-old daughter.
If Dr. Leilanie Perez Ramirez could be a character in any movie, she’d choose a musical role every time. To her, music and dancing is a great way to connect with others by communicating ideas and feelings that you just cannot express with words.
But as much as she loves all types of music, Akron Children’s newest pediatric allergist/immunologist Dr. Perez is most passionate about exploring how environmental factors, such as pollen, certain foods or animal dander, influence a child’s immune system. It’s music to her ears when not only patients’ medical conditions are improved, but also their quality of life.
