Pediatric Endocrinologist Dr. Ryan Heksch with his wife, Lindsay, and children, Violet and William.
Dr. Ryan Heksch may not be as good at renovating homes as his doppelgangers, HGTV’s Property Brothers, but he brings that same level of passion, enthusiasm and dedication when it comes to treating patients as Akron Children’s newest pediatric endocrinologist.
As a glass-half-full kinda guy, Dr. Heksch is quick to point out the bright side when it comes to diagnosing and managing children and teens with growth, puberty, diabetes and other hormonal disorders. It’s that mindset that helps him better comfort and connect with patient families when faced with difficult situations. To him, it’s what makes working in medicine so rewarding.
What celebrity do you look the most like or what sitcom character do you act the most like?
I often hear that I look like the Property Brothers (too bad I’m not as handy as them).

What piece of advice did someone give you when you were young that still resonates with you today?
I always give people the benefit of the doubt. I always try to be an optimist and see the glass as half full. It makes working in medicine more rewarding.
