6. Imagine meeting all the players on the Cleveland Cavaliers team!? And going to their new locker room! That happened for 5 of our cancer patients/survivors who walked — or piggybacked — the runway with them and other “Big Shots and Little Stars” at Quicken Loans Arena.
7. In 1999, Devika was born at just 23 weeks gestation. Her triplet siblings lived just a few weeks. Today, life has come full circle for the miracle baby, as she helps with research in our neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) alongside the team who cared for her almost 20 years ago.
8. Stevens-Johnson Syndrome figuratively knocked 10-year-old Parker Widmer off her horse, but several bedside visits in our Burn Institute from a miniature therapy pony named Willie Nelson from Victory Gallop helped her make an amazing recovery!
9. Six months ago, Jonny Milburn was running around with his classmates at Winona United Methodist Church Preschool without a care in the world. Teacher Mrs. Jenn noticed his left eye seemed to be turning in every once in a while. Little did they know an 18-month cancer battle for Jonny would begin.
